Although there has been much speculation that the German international could look to leave the Spanish giants for a move to the Premier League this summer, it now looks increasingly likely that he will backtrack on that and sign a new contract at the Bernabeu.
With Real being linked for some time with a move for Khedira’s fellow countryman Toni Kroos, who has been confirmed as their latest signing today, it was thought that the 27-year-old may no longer feature in the first-team plans of Carlo Ancelotti.
However, with some reports suggesting that the former Stuttgart ace has failed to agree on a contract with interested party Arsenal, he may now opt to stay put in Spain for the time being.
Khedira, a World Cup winner with Germany this summer, was also part of the Madrid side that won the Champions League this season, as well as being a La Liga title winner with the club in the past.
A statement could be issued imminently, with Khedira reportedly keen to quash speculation over his future.
