Reds lead the chase for 18-year old winger Bakkali.

Liverpool lead Tottenham Hotspur and Valencia in the chase for 18-year old PSV Eindhoven winger Zakaria Bakkali, reports the Metro.

The highly rated winger is being tracked extensively by Kop boss Brendan Rodgers, who is willing to match the Belgian international’s £6.3 million price tag.

Spurs and Valencia are not willing pay up as much for a relative unknown, who has made just 22 first team appearances for PSV so far.

Bakkali though has only one more year left to run on his contract at PSV, and is reportedly eyeing a move out of the Dutch club.

Rodgers is keen to land more and more exciting young talent, and after having received raving reports about the left-winger from his scouts last season,  the Northern Irishman is ready to pull the trigger this summer.

However, the Reds have plenty of young wingers already in their youth ranks, and it remains to be seen whether Rodgers would want to add another teenager to his squad for next season as opposed to a more accomplished player, who could more readily fill in as a replacement for the recently departed Luis Suarez.
