Manchester United Move In For £40m World Cup Star After Barcelona Talks Stall

Fiorentina want £40 million for Cuadrado.

Manchester United have been given more hope of signing their versatile midfield target Juan Cuadrado from Fiorentina as the 26-year old’s negotiations with Barcelona have stalled in recent days.

The Daily Mail reports that the Red Devils could land their man by beating the Catalan giants to his signature if they match Fiorentina’s £40 million valuation of the Colombian.

Cuadrado scored one and assisted four goals at the 2014 World Cup this year, which shot up his market value significantly. The likes of Bayern Munich and Arsenal have also shown interest in the multi faceted player, who can play anywhere across the midfield and also as a full-back.

It remains to be seen whether the Red Devils would spend a huge amount of cash on a player who is largely unproven at the highest level though, but their new boss Louis van Gaal has more than enough money at his disposal if they want to pull the trigger.
