Former Anfield defender was not pleased with Arsenal star.
Liverpool legend Steve Nicol has laid into Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez by hailing his debut performance against Crystal Palace as ‘dreadful’.
The Chilean forward got through what many thought to be a relatively steady first outing in the Premier League, capped off by an incredible piece of chest control, but former centre-back Nicol was clearly not impressed.
“His delivery was awful. Whether it was from set pieces or a rolling ball, they were just horrendous,” said the ex-Scotland international said on ESPN.
“They were either too long, or too short, or too high – he just never got one right.”
Sanchez laid on the equaliser for Laurent Koscielny to nod home at the end of the first half, but all three points were salvaged by a late Aaron Ramsey strike in injury time.
The Chilean only joined the Gunners this summer in a £35m deal after rejecting the chance to join Liverpool as part of the sea that saw Luis Suarez head in the opposite direction.
