The Reds are eager to beat their Premier League rivals to one of the brightest young talents in English football and are preparing a formal bid with the view to loaning him back to the west London outfit for the remainder of the campaign.
Liverpool have made a serious enquiry into the availability of the teenage star, who has previously attracted interest from several leading clubs in England, including Manchester United and Chelsea.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers will be hoping that he can convince the striker to make the move to Anfield after proving that he is capable of giving young players a chance to shine, like Raheem Sterling.
Rodgers also believes that he will have the advantage over his rivals as Roberts’ parents hail from Merseyside and are apparently both big Liverpool fans.
He was a star of Fulham’s FA Youth Cup victory last season, and predominantly featured as a striker, winger, or second striker, making him a valuable commodity to Liverpool.
