Manchester United are edging ever closer to confirming Angel Di Maria as their latest signing as the Real Madrid winger flies in to England to complete his £56m move, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The Red Devils have been chasing a top class winger for much of the summer, with Di Maria emerging as a top target for new manager Louis van Gaal due to his potential availability at Madrid.
Despite being such a key player for Carlo Ancelotti’s side last season, the Argentine now faces falling down in the pecking order at the club due to the arrival of £63m man James Rodriguez, who joined on the back of a superb World Cup with Colombia, in which he finished as top scorer in the competition.
This has freed up Di Maria to move, and he now looks all set to link up with the squad at Old Trafford after jetting in to England for talks, with the fee to be a club-record £56m for United.
The 26-year-old has been at the Bernabeu since 2010, and has helped the club to wins in La Liga in 2012 and the Champions League last season, scoring 36 goals in 190 appearances for Real overall.
