The Dutch manager is ready to listen to offers for the duo as neither is likely to play a key role in his first team
England midfielder Cleverley had a woeful time of it last term and is a player deemed as surplus to requirements by van Gaal and Everton are thought to be tracking the 25 year old.
Kagawa is another player who has steadfastly failed to deliver on his obvious potential since his £17m move to Old Trafford back in 2012 and is now thought to be a target of La Liga title holders Atletico Madrid.
Van Gaal has a few other options to play in the ‘number 10’ role behind his strike-force with Juan Mata likely to be his first choice in the position.
The Old Trafford boss may well also be considering the possibility of listening to offers for other members of his squad who have failed to impress over the past year and there is said to be reported interest from Sporting Lisbon in Anderson with both Tottenham & Arsenal keeping tabs on Danny Welbeck and Juventus tracking Javier Hernandez.
