Ander Herrera ready to return from injury.

Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera, who was signed for upwards of £30 million from La Liga outfit Athletic Club this summer, could be set to return from injury in this weekend’s Premier League clash against Queens Park Rangers, report the Mirror.

Herrera has been out of action for three weeks with an ankle injury, having only played one competitive match for United under Louis van Gaal – the disappointing opening day defeat against Swansea City at Old Trafford.

The return of Herrera is likely to be a massive boost for van Gaal, who will be keen to get his strongest XI out on the field after a turbulent summer in terms of the number of incomings and outgoings at Old Trafford, with the signings of Radamel Falcao and Daley Blind and sale of Danny Welbeck on deadline day only exacerbating that.

Both Blind and Falcao are likely to make their debuts when QPR make the trip north to Old Trafford at the weekend, with Harry Redknapp’s side currently sat above United in the Premier League table.

Along with the new duo, Herrera is also likely to feel like a new signing, although left back Luke Shaw may still be a couple of weeks away from being fit enough to become the final United player to make his competitive bow after a busy Old Trafford summer.
