The Portuguese winger is reportedly unhappy at Real Madrid due to the clubs decision to sell stars Angel Di Maria and Xabi Alonso during the summer.

This has led to speculation that the 29 year old could return to United sometime in the next year.

Following the arrivals of Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao, Neville believes his old club are now in a much better position to try and attract Ronaldo back to the Theatre of Dreams.

“You’d have to say that with what they’ve done with Di Maria and Falcao it’s more possible, it has to be, because they’ve shown the real intent to go and sign world-class players,” Neville said on Sky Sports ‘ ‘Monday Night Football’.

“Does he love Manchester? Does he love United? Yes, absolutely. He has talked more and more in the last 12 to 18 months about how he misses Old Trafford.”

While a return to Manchester United would seem Ronaldo’s obvious destination if he does become available, it is known that several other clubs are interested in signing the Portuguese star and could rival the Red Devils for his signature.
