The Portuguese manager left Los Blancos a year ago amidst rumours that he had fallen out with members of the club and a number of the senior players.

Despite these rumours Mourinho insists he has a fantastic relationship with his former club and is certainly not ruling out a return some day.

“On one hand I achieved a goal, to win three championships that I consider the most important in the world [England, Italy and Spain]. That goal was important,” Mourinho told Portuguese TVI.

When asked if a return to Real Madrid was on the cards, he said: “Yes, definitely. It was an experience as a man and as a coach that I would repeat again without thinking twice.”

He did however say that he would do things differently next time around.

“If a coach can think and self-criticise, as I do, then the decisions that are made will not always be the same. Not only at Real Madrid but with all clubs,” he added.

The ‘Special One’ may not be heading back to the Bernabeu any time soon, especially as he has unfinished business with Chelsea and the Champions League. But to hear that a return to Spain is even a possibility is something that will come as a shock to many.
