Stamford Bridge side chase Nou Camp forward.
Chelsea are reportedly ready to mount a fresh bid for Barcelona striker Lionel Messi having failed in their attempts to land the Argentine international last summer according to the Metro.
The west London side are believed to have made a massive offer for the 27 year old during the last transfer window and are willing to make an offer of as much as €150m (£118m) next summer, an offer one imagines the Catalan side will turn down flat.
There is growing speculation that Messi is unhappy with life at the Nou Camp though this didn’t stop the four time Balon d’Or winner reaching a milestone of his 400th goal for club and country during Barcelona’s crushing 6-0 win over Granada.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich no doubt has the funds to make Messi a stellar offer though it’s hard to imagine the Barcelona star ever considering the option of leaving the club he has represented with such aplomb since the age of 12.
Messi is into his 11th season in the Barcelona first team set-up and has won a host of honours including six La Liga titles and three Champions League triumphs.
