Dani Alves hoping for City move rather than United switch.
Manchester United are interested in the signing of experienced Barcelona right back Dani Alves, report the Mirror, but the Brazilian himself would favour a move to United’s bitter rivals Manchester City if he is to make the switch from La Liga to the Premier League.

One of the world’s finest full backs over the last decade, Alves could well be ready to move on from Barcelona next summer in search of a new challenge, despite the fact that some reports have suggested that Barca are ready to offer the seasoned Brazilian international a new deal at the Nou Camp.
With United boss Louis van Gaal having prioritised the right back position as one of the next that needs strengthening at Old Trafford, following a lengthy summer of spending this time around, Alves appears to be a genuine option for the Red Devils.
If City were to become interested the picture would be muddied somewhat, however, with Alves’ fine relationship with Txiki Begiristain would give the reigning Premier League champions the edge – but with both Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna as options as full back, City are unlikely to be interested in a right back unless one of those two left the club next summer.
