The 27 year old German international has already agreed personal terms with the north London club and hopes that Real Madrid will agree a January offer from the Premier League side.
Bernabeu president Florentino Perez would certainly be keen to avoid losing the World Cup winner on a free transfer next summer, Khedira being well into the final year of his Real Madrid contract, with Chelsea seemingly not an option for the former Stuttgart man despite the presence of his former boss Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge.
Wenger could well do with a fresh defensive midfield option and Khedira would provide a real improvement on the likes of Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini.
