Reds favourites to sign the excellent Argentine…
Liverpool will step up their pursuit of Argentina international Ezequiel Lavezzi, and are favourites to sign the 29-year-old when the transfer window opens in January, reports the Mirror.
Atletico Madrid, Napoli and Inter Milan have also expressed an interest in the PSG attacker, but the Reds could seal the deal if they move quickly enough.
Despite his undoubted ability, Lavezzi has yet to complete a full 90 minutes for the Ligue 1 champions this season, with Laurent Blanc favouring the likes of Javier Pastore and Lucas Moura, who were both behind Lavezzi in the pecking order last term.
The attacker can play on either flank in a modern 4-3-3 formation, and has even been known to play as a centre-forward, although he’s more comfortable in a supporting role.
He prides himself on his ability to beat a fullback and put telling crosses into the box, although he can also score goals himself. Lavezzi’s bagged 114 club goals to date, and four for his country.
