In a recent interview with well-known Spanish newspaper Marca, Silva said “Of course I saw [the news]. It’s always a joy to be spoken about like that and it’s good news for me”.
However, he insisted that his number one goal was to continue his high level of performances in Brazil and help Cruzeiro win back-to-back league titles.
“When a club like Real Madrid want you it makes you feel proud and happy, although I know I need to focus on Cruzeiro, my club, but interest from Madrid will inspire me to continue working hard.”
Cruzeiro are currently top of Brazil’s Campeonato with 56 points from 28 games – of which Silva has started 19, scoring 1 goal. His side are 6 points clear of second-placed Internacional and there are 10 games remaining in the season.
