So far Brendan Rodgers’ side have lost one and won one in the competition, but suppressing Cristiano Ronaldo and co at Anfield will be a very tough task.
Here is how CaughtOffside thinks the Merseyside outfit will lineup.
GK – Simon Mignolet
Although hardly an assured presence between the sticks until someone else is signing the goalkeeper is the best choice Rodgers has.
RB – Glen Johnson
Didn’t shower himself in glory against QPR at the weekend, but the England international is probably a better prospect against Madrid than inexperienced loanee Javier Manquillo.
CB – Martin Skrtel
The most level head at the back at the moment, but the Merseysiders are really struggling in defence and Skrtel could have his hands full with Karim Benzema and Ronaldo baring down on him.
CB – Dejan Lovren
Signed from Southampton over the summer for a hefty £20m, but has yet to show he is worth that price and this could be the match that Lovren proves his price-tag.
LB – Alberto Moreno
Jose Enrique was drafted in for a rare appearance on Sunday, but the Spaniard hardly impressed many and is likely to be replaced by his younger fellow countryman.
