Emirates Stadium side given boost in pursuit of Nou Camp attacker.
Arsenal target Pedro has apparently handed in a transfer request, increasing the chances of the north London side landing the Barcelona attacker according to the Daily Express.
The 27 year old has seen his first team chances limited of late and has told his Nou Camp employers that he wishes to leave in January in order to secure regular action.
Last summer’s arrival of Neymar didn’t help Pedro and Luis Suarez being brought in may well prove the death knell for the Spanish international as it’s clear that boss Luis Enrique would struggle to find room for other options when fielding Nemar/Suarez and Lionel Messi.
Arsene Wenger may well be keen on Pedro but having brought in Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck one wonders if Arsenal could offer the Barca star a guaranteed starting spot either.
Theo Walcott is close to making a first team comeback and Olivier Giroud will return in the new year and then the Gunners boss also has the likes of Santi Cazorla, Mesut Ozil and Lukas Podolski to accommodate.
Pedro may be best off looking for alternative destinations if he doesn’t want to find himself simply switching one bench for another.
