Arsenal hope to beat Bayern Munich to the signing of Goncalo Guedes…
Arsenal are believed to be leading Bayern Munich in the chase for ‘the new Franck Ribery’, Benfica starlet Goncalo Guedes, despite the fact that he is yet to make a senior appearance in the league for the Portuguese giants.
Reports in the Daily Express explain that the 17-year-old is being tracked by a number of Europe’s top teams including AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund, and looks set to join a new club in January.
According to O Jogo – who are reference by the source – Arsene Wenger is confident of striking a deal for Guedes as he looks to reinvigorate the Gunners’ youth team.
However, the Arsenal boss faces stiff competition from Pep Guardiola, although it is believed that Guedes favours a move to the Premier League over the Bundesliga.
