Gunners looking for double Nou Camp buy.
Arsenal are lining up a £30 million double move for Barcelona duo Dani Alves and Pedro in the January transfer window, report the Express, but Gunners fans are likely to be concerned that manager Arsene Wenger is looking at players in positions where the need is far less than the heart of defence and defensive midfield.
Brazilian international right back Dani Alves is out of contract at the Nou Camp in the near future and could well be available at a bargain fee in January, whilst speedy winger Pedro is reportedly unsettled due to a lack of first team football under Luis Enrique, meaning that the duo could be available at a knock-down price compared to what they would have cost a couple of years ago.
Despite this, however, an attacking right back and quick wide player are arguably not what Arsenal need to address the significant defensive problems that have been exacerbated by recent injures and fans will be concerned if Wenger isn’t targeting these areas with the utmost priority in January.
Barcelona, for their part, are in a period of rebuilding under new manager Enrique, who joined from Celta Vigo in the summer, with a number of players expected to be moved on in the near future to help the Spaniard consider his overhaul of the squad.
