Juventus join chase for top United target.
Juventus and AS Roma have been linked with a move for Real Madrid left-back and Manchester United target Fabio Coentrao, Spanish source Fichajes.net reports.
The Portuguese international is no longer a first-team regular at the Bernabeu this season and could move to ensure he is playing regularly, with a January exit looking increasingly likely.
It was recently claimed that United and Paris Saint-Germain were among the leading contenders to snap the defender up, but it may now be that he will be tempted by a move to Serie A this winter.
Juventus and Roma are also on the lookout for new signings at left-back, and have made Coentrao their top target for the next transfer window, which could see United miss out on a potentially useful signing.
Louis van Gaal is seemingly unconvinced by summer signing Luke Shaw at left-back so far, and appears keen to add further depth in that part of the pitch after selling Patrice Evra during the summer.
Coentrao has been linked with United in the past, but it now seems that the Red Devils could fail to lure the 26-year-old to Old Trafford, having successfully raided the Bernabeu for Angel Di Maria in the summer.
