Bernabeu side confident of landing Old Trafford star.
Man United keeper David de Gea has reportedly turned down the offer of a new contract as he seeks to force a move to Real Madrid according to the Metro.
The 23 year old Spanish international, arguably the most consistent performer in Louis van Gaal’s Old Trafford squad, is now a top target for Bernabeu giants Real Madrid as they seek to replace Iker Casillas.
Man United have looked to counter the growing interest in their first choice custodian by offering a new deal but the former Atletico Madrid man has snubbed the club and by all accounts Real are confident they can land the keeper.
De Gea may be open to a move back to his hometown and a move to Real Madrid will presumably be all the more tempting should Man United fail to secure a top four finish this term.
Casillas hasn’t impressed since returning to Real Madrid’s starting eleven having spent the best part of 18 months warming the bench and as such a move for de Gea is a sensible one to consider.
