It’s Arsenal, though, that remain the most likeliest destination for Cabaye should he choose to leave PSG in the search for more game time according to recent speculation.
When a lightweight, tricky midfielder is on the market you know one club is going to neglect all other pressing team issues and try and buy him. Plus you get the sense Arsene Wenger is still smarting from his rejected £10 million bid for the Frenchman whilst he was at Newcastle.
However, Arsenal have been linked with a host of midfield names and you can only see the Gunners getting one. Cabaye looks a reasonable choice given the ageing Mikel Arteta and long-term ankle ligaments injury to Jack Wilshere, but there’s so many names in the mix in terms of Arsenal’s midfield targets, who knows what’s going to end up happening?
