Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla could be in line for a sensational summer return to Spain, with La Liga champions Atletico Madrid reportedly interested.

According to the article Cazorla is intrigued by the idea of playing for the Spanish Champions and everything indicates that a 2015 summer transfer would be the perfect timing for both parties.

Despite making a name for himself at the Gunners after transferring from Malaga a little over two years ago, the 29 year old is said to be fearful that despite his recently good performances he may not get a lot of game time.

With Arsenal’s big money move for Mesut Özil not having the desired effects in terms of results, there are suggestions that Cazorla will be sold to make funds available for another expensive purchase by Arsene Wenger.

Fans of the North London side may be dismayed at the news the Spain international could leave as the midfielder has returned to form following a slow start to his campaign,  providing an assist for Danny Welbeck at the weekend against West Bromwich Albion.

Cazorla’s current Arsenal deal runs out in July 2016, so would be in an ideal bargaining position if he does decide to stay in London until next season.
