Reds rival Gunners for exciting young striker.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has reportedly set his sights on the signing of superb young Palermo striker Paulo Dybala, according to the Daily Star.
The classy Argentine has been in superb form in Serie A this season, attracting strong interest from Liverpool’s Premier League rivals Arsenal as they also look to improve their options upfront.
It is claimed that Dybala, 21, is close to completing a £31m move to the Emirates Stadium, but Liverpool hope to hijack the deal as Reds boss Rodgers seeks to bring in a replacement for the misfiring Mario Balotelli.
The Italian international has been desperately poor for the Merseyside giants since his £16m summer move from AC Milan, and may be shipped out to help fund a bid for Dybala.
Having drawn comparisons with Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero, it is no surprise to see the Palermo youngster attract so much attention from top English clubs.
