Marco Reus
Back to Dortmund now and despite his world-class reputation this Germany international has a relatively small release clause that becomes active next summer – as revealed by Bayern. The German champions are also interested in Reus, as are a number of other top clubs.

Dani Alves
With Rafael the only available natural right-back for van Gaal currently and the Brazilian struggling to find form and fitness, a new option in the position wouldn’t go amiss. This fellow Brazil international has admitted he could leave FC Barcelona as well.

Victor Valdes
Finally a player who won’t break the bank, with Valdes currently a free transfer having left the Nou Camp in the summer. Valdes has been training with United as he recovers from injury and could be tempted into either replacing or acting as competition for de Gea.
