Brendan Rodgers is urgently seeking a signing to help boost his attack and has earmarked a move for 29 year old Senegal international Ba, who has been an outstanding success since moving to Istanbul over the summer.

The former West Ham, Newcastle United and Chelsea man moved to Besiktas in July and has bagged 15 goals in 17 appearances and may perhaps be tempted by a Premier League return.

Liverpool have struggled for goals this term with new signings Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert managing just one Premier League goal between them whilst Fabio Borini has been similarly ineffective in front of goal and Rodgers has been without injured England man Daniel Sturridge for most of the campaign to boot.

According to talkSPORT Liverpool will have to battle AC Milan for Ba as the Serie A side are also keen on the in-form striker.

Bestikas paid Chelsea £5m for Ba and would presumably demand a fee well in excess of that outlay if they are to consider the sale of the recently acquired talent.
