Louis van Gaal keen to welcome Croatian veteran back to Old Trafford.
Man United are reportedly plotting a stunning move to re-sign Inter Milan defender Nemanja Vidic according to the Daily Star.
Old Trafford boss Louis van Gaal is keen to welcome the Serbian veteran back to the club he spent eight years with before leaving over the summer and by all accounts newly installed San Siro boss Roberto Mancini may be ready to sanction the deal.
Vidic hasn’t impressed since moving to Italy and Mancini has opted to use Andrea Ranocchia and Juan Jesus as his first choice centre-back pairing since returning to Inter.
Though clearly the experienced no-nonsense defender isn’t the same player he was during his pomp but Vidic may still be able to make a real impact back at Man United.
Though Man United are on a good run of form van Gaal has at times been left having to throw youngsters such as Paddy McNair and Tyler Blackett in at the deep end and Vidic could offer a strong short-term solution to the problem.
