The Champions League Group stages may be over for another year but this season’s action saw plenty of brilliant individual performances from a number of players across Europe.

Despite 16 teams tumbling out of the competition, with squads of players seeing their European dreams being put to bed for another season, there were a few players that that may just have caught some eyes in the Premier League with January fast approaching.

Here’s five men, according to the Daily Mirror, who just might be on a few managers’ christmas lists.

Roberto – Olympiacos

Despite getting through the group stage last season and almost reaching the quater-finals, Olympiacos have had no success in this season’s competition despite three wins.

Olympiacos managed the scalps of both Juventus and Atletico Madrid when they visited Athens largely down to Roberto’s heroics. And the former Real Zaragoza keeper was probably one of the only players who could come away from the Greek side’s 4-0 thrashing from Atletico with any credit, despite being the man in between the sticks.

Roberto could prove a smart acquisition for a club in need of an experienced and proven shot stopper who won’t force them to break the bank.
