Reds ace agrees terms with Serie A side.
Liverpool right-back Glen Johnson looks set to complete his move to AS Roma this January with the view to joining on a free transfer next season, according to talkSPORT.
The England international has long been linked with an exit from Anfield and has reportedly been keen to make the move to Italy, holding talks with the likes of Juventus and Fiorentina as well as with Roma.
However, it does look like the Stadio Olimpico will be his next destination, with sources in Italy suggesting a verbal agreement has been reached for the full-back to pen a pre-contract agreement with Rudi Garcia’s side in January.
Johnson is in the final year of his contract at Liverpool and will be allowed to sign on with a new club for next season from January onwards, and he looks set to join former Chelsea and England left-back Ashley Cole in the Italian capital.
The 30-year-old has been in and out of the Liverpool side this season and it has been suggested that he is past his best after an otherwise strong career with the Reds.
