No return date known for Marcos Rojo.
Manchester United may have continued their fine winning run with a convincing 3-0 triumph over rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon, but there was one blow coming for Red Devils supporters after the match, with manager Louis van Gaal admitting that he has no idea when first choice central defender Marcos Rojo will be fit to return to action according to the Mail.
The Argentine international was injured in training on Saturday, but details around the exact nature of the injury picked up remain sketchy, with van Gaal only willing to confirm that it wasn’t “healthy”.
It is not the first time that Rojo has picked up an injury during his brief time at Old Trafford, with the former Sporting Lisbon man missing around a month following a knock picked up during United’s calamitous 5-3 defeat at Leicester City earlier in the season.
Now is he the first United defender to be ruled out for a period of time, with Phil Jones only returning from a spell on the sidelines for the Liverpool game and Rafael, Luke Shaw and Chris Smalling all missing out on the match with a variety of ailments.
When pushed on the potential return date of Rojo, van Gaal was largely evasive and would only say:
“I don’t think it’s healthy but I’m not a doctor.”
