Old Trafford side keen on Bernabeu star.
Man United are on alert following reports that Sergio Ramos’s future at Real Madrid is uncertain according to the Daily Star.
The 28 year old has been locked in contract talks with his Bernabeu employers for some time and though the Spanish international’s current deal runs until 2017 this ource claims that if a new deal can not be thrashed out then Real Madrid may consider selling the former Sevilla man.
Louis van Gaal will certainly be considering moves to strengthen his defence and could well do with a strong central defensive option, with Ramos helpfully also being adept at playing at right-back.
This source claims it would cost around £40m to land Ramos and though clearly that’s a massive fee it would be fair to say that the Real Madrid man is perhaps one of the best in his position in world football at the present time.
Jonny Evans and Phil Jones have struggled with form and fitness whilst new signing Marcos Rojo is still adapting to life in the English top tier.
Van Gaal has therefore been forced to use youngsters Tyler Blackett and Paddy McNair with varying degrees of success.
