Arsenal transfer news
The Portuguese international has fallen out of favour at the Bernabeu this season and seems set to be offloaded in the next transfer window, with other clubs around Europe also monitoring the player’s situation, including AC Milan and Besiktas.
Coentrao has shown himself to be a top performer during his time at Real, but is unfortunate to have the excellent Marcelo ahead of him at left-back, meaning his playing lime has become increasingly limited.
Still, he may have offers from big clubs as Arsenal register an interest, with the Gunners in need of more depth at the back as Nacho Monreal has often played out of position in the centre of defence this season.
United, meanwhile, could do with an experienced name to compete for that part of the pitch too, with Ashley Young playing an unfamiliar role at left wing-back this season in the absence of injury-hit Luke Shaw.
