Blues considering a move for Corinthians forward Malcom.

Chelsea are hoping to make a move for teenage Corinthians forward Malcom, report the Mirror, but the Blues could face stern competition from La Liga giants Barcelona if they do decide to try and swoop for a player who is getting people very excited in Brazil with his huge potential.

The 17 year-old is seen as potentially the next big hope of Brazilian football and has already made 20 senior appearances for Corinthians in Brazilian domestic football but, like all of the most impressive South American youngsters who attract this degree of hype, he has major European clubs circling around and keen to bring him to Europe.

As well as Chelsea, the report suggests that Catalan giants Barcelona are also very interested in being the team who give Malcom the opportunity to develop his career in Europe and, with South American players having a better record of acclimatising to La Liga ahead of the Premier League, that could well be a move that appeals to the teenager.

With a strong first team squad that has shown itself to be as balanced as any in the Premier League, if not Europe, so far this season, however, Chelsea and Jose Mourinho have the luxury of spending their transfer kitty on potential stars of the future – and Malcom certainly fits the bill.
