Bernabeu side target Stamford Bridge bench warmer.
Real Madrid have reportedly shown an interest in Chelsea keeper Petr Cech according to CalcioMercato.
The 32 year old Czech Republic international finds himself in the unusual position of bench warmer following the return of loaned out keeper Thibaut Courtois and must surely be considering his options.
Cech is undoubtedly one of the best keepers in European football and is certainly too good to be left wasting away on the Stamford Bridge bench.
Real Madrid’s interest is perhaps a tad hard to fathom with Carlo Ancelotti showing renewed faith in Iker Casillas whilst also beefing up his custodian options by signing Costa Rican Keylor Navas over the summer.
Cech is into his eleventh season at Chelsea and has made 478 appearances for the west London side which makes his return of just 157 minutes of Premier League action all the more significant.
Ancelotti clearly knows Cech well from his time in charge of Chelsea and could perhaps see the former Rennes man as a superior option to those currently in his armoury.
