Bernabeu star back on Old Trafford radar.
Having been rebuffed in their advances for Real Madrid star Gareth Bale it appears that Man United will now re-ignite their interest in signing Cristiano Ronaldo according to the Daily Star.
The Old Trafford side had been strongly linked with a move for Bale for some weeks but president Florentino Perez has stated that such a move would not be happening and one imagines that Man United’s push to sign Ronaldo would elicit a similar response, though this won’t stop the Premier League side from trying nonetheless.
The 29 year old Portuguese international has been in supreme form over the past year but this source claims Ronaldo isn’t happy with the manner in which Perez is running the Bernabeu outfit.
Clearly any feeling of unhappiness has had zero impact on Ronaldo’s efforts on the field of play with the former Man United star being pivotal to Carlo Ancelotti’s side racking up a superb 22 match winning streak.
Louis van Gaal would no doubt love to bring in Ronaldo and Man United could well do with a high-profile signing to help act as a statement of intent as they seek to reassert themselves on the world stage.
Man United did of course spend a British record £59.7m on Angel di Maria over the summer but despite a bright start to his time at the club he has blown hot and cold over the past couple of months, with the former Real Madrid winger struggling with both form and fitness.
