Spanish TV show Punto Pelota dropped the revelation when they had journalist Juan Gato on the show on Monday. He claimed that last season’s La Liga champions and Champions League runners up had agreed a deal for the hotly contested star.
Any prospect of a deal would be huge coup for manager Diego Simeone, with the continent’s biggest sides all supposedly after the German’s signature. Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich have all been linked to the 25-year-old at some point or another.
“Atletico is the only team that has closed an agreement with Marco Reus,” said the journalist.
Gato went on to claim that the transfer should go ahead in the summer if nothing major happened before then. However, whether this is true is another matter, with Punto Pelota not exactly known for its amazing reliability on transfer news.
