The Swiss international is also a target for Inter Milan, and, according to trusted Italian football insider Tancredi Palmeri, the player seemingly favours the move to the San Siro despite higher wages on offer from the Reds.

Shaqiri is looking set to be on the move this January after failing to gain regular playing time at the Allianz Arena, despite previously being regarded as one of the top young players in Europe during his time with FC Basel.

Still, the 23-year-old will not be making the move to England this winter after personally rejecting Liverpool, though his reasons for doing so are not clear at this stage.
