Inter have already secured the signings of Xherdan Shaqiri and Lukas Podolski.
Inter Milan are set to make an offer to sign Liverpool defensive midfielder Lucas Leiva within the next 24 hours, report the Mail, as Roberto Mancini looks to continue his recent spending spree in an attempt to ensure that the Serie A giants are able to claw their way back up the table in the second half of the season.

Brazilian international Lucas still has two years left on his contract at Anfield, but he is not always an automatic choice in Brendan Rodgers’ first team at Anfield and may feel that a new challenge appeals after spending the majority of the prime years of his career as the water carrier in the Reds’ midfield.
Inter, meanwhile, have now turned their attentions to more pragmatic and defensive signings after Mancini secured loan deals for Bayern Munich winger Xherdan Shaqiri and Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski, both of which have excited Inter supporters after some barren years since they won the Champions League under Jose Mourinho.
With the likes of Mauro Icardi and Mateo Kovacic also features in the San Siro first team, Mancini is likely to feel that he has enough flair players at his disposal to lead the Nerrazzuri back up the Serie A table – but only if he can add the likes of Lucas as a more solid base.
