The 33-year-old was sporting a gold dress in honour of the event and caught many eyes during the evening due to her good looks and multilingual talents.

Abdo currently works for Sky Sports and can be regularly seen on their 24 hour news channel, but with a degree in European Languages and a fluency in four, her talents stretch far beyond that.

She can speak French, German and Spanish – as well as her native English – and this was part of the reason why she was chosen to present the prestigious awards in Switzerland – which included handing Ronaldo his third Ballon d’Or gong.

Abdo has previously worked on DW-TV, CNN and Sky Deutschland and is well known on the continent as a result and since joining Sky Sports in 2013 has also presented their Coppa Italia programme and deadline day show alongside Jim White.

Spanish daily Marca were quick to praise the Sky Sports beauty, who were obviously pleased to see Real Madrid superstar Ronaldo walk away with the biggest award ahead of Lionel Messi and Manuel Neuer.
