Gonzalo Higuain not set to leave Napoli.
Liverpool do not appear to be signing prolific Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain during the course of the January transfer window, with the Mail reporting that the Argentine international’s agent and brother has confirmed that the former Real Madrid man will be staying at the San Paolo despite reports suggesting that he was unsettled in Naples.

Higuain has been linked with a move to Anfield this January as Brendan Rodgers’ men have toiled in front of goal all season, but the player is under contract with his current club until 2018 and is seen as perhaps the most impotant player in Rafael Benitez’s Napoli side.
Signed from Real Madrid in 2013 despite interest from major clubs across Europe, Higuain has become the poster boy of Napoli during his time at the club, although their failure to really challenge Juventus right at the top of the table and a succession of tough Champions League draws have led to some disappointment.
The player’s brother, Nicolas, was asked about potential interest from the Premier League during a recent interview with a radio station, but he poured scorn on the idea of his sibling and client leaving Napoli for English football:
“I don’t speak English only Italian, French and Spanish.”
“First of all, I have not spoken to any club because they have not contacted me and secondly, it would be disrespectful to Napoli.”
