All of the goals as Atletico Madrid secure an aggregate victory over their local rivals in the Copa del Rey.
Atletico Madrid have continued to have the indian sign over Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid, with two Fernando Torres goals in the Bernabeu helping them to complete a 4-2 aggregate victory over the team from across the Spanish capital.
Leading by two from the first leg in the Vicente Calderon last week, Atletico had to watch Cristiano Ronaldo collect the Ballon d’Or ahead of the match, but started the game on fire and took the lead when Torres swept home at the far post inside sixty seconds.
The goal seemed to shock Real into life, however, and Real quickly equalised and brought the tie back to life when Sergio Ramos, so often the scourge of Atletico, headed in from a set piece.
Real dominated the rest of the first half and missed a host of chances to take the lead on the night and throw the tie wide open, but they were caught by another Torres sucker punch inside forty seconds of the second half starting, all but ending the tie as a contest.
Cristiano Ronaldo this time equalised, again soon after Atletico had taken the lead, but Real ran out of steam this time and it will be Atletico who face Barcelona or Elche in the quarter final next week.
