Marquinhos, who has already made one big money move in his career when he left AS Roma for the Parc des Princes, generally finds himself behind countrymen David Luiz and Thiago Silva in the battle for a PSG first team berth and could feel that opportunities will be more forthcoming at Old Trafford.
Despite his lack of match action in Ligue 1 this season, Marquinhos is still regarded as one of the best young players in the world and, having paid £27m to Roma to land his services, Laurent Blanc’s side are unlikely to settle for a profit as meagre as £3m on a player who could still develop into one of the best in the world in his particular position, with this source claiming Man United will offer £30m for the Brazilian international.
