Real Madrid (4-2-3-1)
GK – Iker Casillas
After sharing time on the pitch with Diego Lopez last season this time around the captain has managed to assert himself ahead of Keylor Navas.
RB – Daniel Carvajal
Took a little time in 2013/14 to get ahead of Alvaro Arbeloa at right-back, but the Spaniard is now the preferred choice for Carlo Ancelotti.
CB – Raphael Varane
With no Pepe or Sergio Ramos due to injury it will be a great opportunity for Varane to show why he should be in the starting XI more consistently.
CB – Nacho
It will also be a rare opportunity for this youngster to start and Atleti may view him as the weak link.
LB – Fabio Coentrao
The selection problems don’t end there for Ancelotti who is expected to name Coentrao ahead of Arbeloa in Marcelo’s absence.
