Mamadou Sakho never considered leaving the Reds despite derby day walkout

Sakho has come a long way since the last Merseyside derby with Everton earlier this term, in a game that saw the defender storm away from the ground after being snubbed by manager Brendan Rodgers.

Since then the Frenchman has become an integral part of Rodgers’ team and alongside Emre Can and Martin Skrtel makes up a back three that has been brilliant this year and the 24-year-old says he never had any doubts about staying.

“That was a bad moment for me, a difficult time. I think it was natural that I was disappointed because I want to play for this shirt and I am ready to fight for the club,” Sakho was quoted by the Guardian.
