Gerrard ready for derby day ‘banter’
It will be the last ever Merseyside derby for the midfielder on Saturday evening before he jets off to America to join MLS franchise LA Galaxy in the summer.
Despite the fact it is his last ever appearance in the prestigious fixture, Gerrard expects nothing less than hostility from the Toffees faithful and is looking forward to it.
“I doubt it very much. I love the banter with Everton fans. It’s what it’s all about. It’s about rivalries. I don’t mind it at all. Bring it on, as far as I’m concerned,” the former England captain was quoted by BBC Sport.
