During the second leg of their Copa Libertadores qualifier against Huracan, the players from Peruvian side Alianza Lima decided not to play for the first minute of the game in protest.

After a violent week for Alianza Lima, the players decided to protest in a peculiar way.

Following the humiliating score in the first leg, which Alianza Lima lost 4-0 at home, the Peruvian side’s fans waited outside the Estadio Alejandro Villanueva for the players to appear. The incident ended with a fight between players and fans which had to be broken up by the police and other officials.

In the days after the altercation, fans of Lima were again caught attacking their players – this time by jumping over a perimeter fence and onto the training field – attacking several players including Christian Cueva, Miguel Araujo, and Victor Kidron.
