The Gunners coach was speaking in an interview with broadcasters beIN Sports and said the striker would be likely the next big name to leave the Portuguese giants.

Radamel Falcao, James Rodriguez and Hulk have all left the European giants in recent seasons and the Frenchman thinks the heavily transfer linked striker could be next.

“[He has] top physical strengths,” said Wenger reports Daily Mail.

“Hugely efficient, he is the kind of player who can make room for himself in the box.

“He could play in the Premier League because he has the body to make the difference. He uses it in a very intelligent way. Very short back lift and he’s a very good finisher.

“He’s on the list of many clubs, you know that. He will be the next big transfer who will give a big smile to Pinto da Costa.”

And if Wenger is interested in the Colombian he could soon get his wish as Martinez revealed he plans to leave his club this summer.

He’s managed a quite brilliant 85 goals in three seasons with the Portuguese champions but is looking for new claims in 2015/16.

Arsenal will have to be quick, however, with Manchester United also said to be interested in capturing the 28 year old.
