The Red Devils will play local rivals Preston North End in the Fifth Round of the FA Cup on Monday night, but the former Arsenal man will not be involved. The absence of the 31-year-old striker means Wayne Rooney will probably be pushed forward, back into attack to partner Radamel Falcao.
Van Persie has admitted to not scoring enough goals this season, and there is reason to believe he may look for a way out of Old Trafford this summer.
