The Clarets player has been criticised by the Portuguese boss for his challenge on the midfielder, but the governing body decided to not retrospectively ban the 25-year-old.

Referee Martin Atkinson claims to have seen the tackle, and as such the FA are powerless to punish the Burnley man.

The Blues boss has used the incident as proof of a supposed campaign from officials against his side.

Mourinho believes there is a ‘campaign’ against his side after deeming officials to have unfairly treated his side on a number of occasions this term.

The Stamford Bridge hierarchy are standing behind their manager on the issue, believing that the FA’s disciplinary procedures are not fit for purpose.
