Huge blow for Chelsea and United as City lead chase for Atletico star.
Manchester City’s bid to bring Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone to the club could also see them land star player Koke in a £44m deal, according to the Daily Star.
The Spanish international is one of the best young midfielders in Europe at the moment, and has been strongly linked with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Barcelona in the past.
However, with Simeone supposedly ready to snub a new deal at the Vicente Calderon to replace the struggling Manuel Pellegrini at the Etihad Stadium, Koke could follow.
This would be a huge signing for the Premier League champions as they look to bring in long-term replacements for midfield stars Yaya Toure and David Silva, who look past their best.
